Lumbini Lions lost its second match against the Karnali Yaks by 9 wickets.
Lumbini Lions vs Karnali Yaks, the 7th match of the NPL 2025 and second match for the Lions was really heartbreaking for all the Lions fans, where they lost the match by 9 wickets.
While batting first, Lumbini Lions put a score of 156 for 8 wickets for Karnali Yaks to chase. Both the openers gave their early wickets, while Captain Rohit Paudel scored 49 off 43 balls but couldn’t make a proper partnership because of early wickets at the other end. JJ Smit and Ruben Trumplemann made 23 and 29 respectively but still the Lions fell short of runs.
Meanwhile, the Yaks chased the score of 157 in just 12.2 overs, with Mark Watt making 114 runs in just 44 balls. Yaks just lost one wicket of Priyank Panchal in 3.5 overs and won the match by a huge difference of 9 wickets.
As it was just the second match for the Lions in this tournament, they are preparing to roar back louder on the field.
The next match for the Lions will be on Tuesday (25th November) against the Kathmandu Gorkhas.
