Qualifier 2 between Lumbini Lions and Biratnagar Kings was won by the Lions by 40 runs and with that we step into the FINALS!
Biratnagar Kings won the toss and chose to bowl first, where we gave them a score of 135 to chase. The opening batter D’Arcy Short made 45 off 41 balls and gave the team a great start. He was then helped by Rohit Paudel with 34 runs, where they both had a partnership of 69 runs. Niroshan Dickwella also had his part with 29 runs and the team successfully scored 134 runs.
In the second innings, the Lions showed their bowling skills in the first over itself, where Ruben Trumplemann took 2 back-to-back wickets of Martin Guptil and Lokesh Bam. Not just the wickets but Trumplemann’s over all spell was amazing where he gave just 9 runs in 3 overs. In the second over, Sher Malla came into the action and he bowled out Faf du Plessis. They were then helped by JJ Smit and Abhishek Gautam by 2-2 wickets each. Not forgetting, Tilak Bhandari, the Player of the Match, who took 3 wickets and gave just 15 runs in his spell.
By the 18th over, the Biratnagar Kings were all out on 94 runs and the Lumbini Lions became the second finalist after Sudurpaschim Royals.
The final will be played between Lumbini
Lions and Sudurpaschim Royals on Saturday (13th December).
