After the half season, in the 16th match against Chitwan Rhinos, the Lions secured their maiden victory of NPL. In the first inning, Lumbini posted a score of 167 with the help of Captain Rohit Paudel who made 80 of 57 balls and Saad Bin Zafar 52 off 35 balls.
Chasing a target of 168, the Rhinos struggled to build solid partnerships, after losing their openers early to the Lions’ bowlers. Rohit led the bowling attack with four-wicket haul, supported by Ramon Simmonds with two and Saad Bin Zafar and Abhishesh Gautam with one wicket each. The Rhinos innings were finished at 134 for 8 in 20 overs, falling short by 33 runs. The win boosted the Lions' morale after four losses in a row.
