Nepal beats UAE by 1 run and moves a step closer to T20 WC Qualification

Airee’s Heroics in Final Over Seal Nepal’s One-Run Thriller Against UAE.

Nepal defeated UAE by one run in Super Six stage of T20 World Cup Asia and EAP Qualification 2025 and moved a step closer to the qualification.

Batting first after winning the toss, Nepal posted a score of 140/6 in 20 overs. Both the openers of Rhinos gave a good start to the team; Aasif Sheikh became the top-scorer for the team with 51 off 47 balls. Despite having a good start, Nepal struggled later as the UAE bowlers kept the bowling attack tight.

Meanwhile, at the end of 19th over of the second inning UAE were on 131 for 6, needing 10 runs off the last over but Dipendra Singh Airee came out of the syllabus for UAE, giving just eight runs and taking three wickets.

The dramatic final over: after giving a single from the first two balls, Ariee was hit a six by Dhruv Parashar off the third ball. However, Parashar was caught near the boundary in the next ball, followed by two run outs, one by Sundeep Jora and other by Skipper Rohit Paudel.

With this victory over UAE by one run Nepal moved closer to the Qualification.

Nepal’s next match in the Super Six stage will be against Qatar on 13th October.
