Nepal makes its place in Super Six for T20 World Cup Asia & EAP Qualifiers 2025.
In a crucial match against Japan, Nepal with a strong bowling attack and balanced batting power, booked their place in the Super Six stage by a 5-wicket victory.
Japan
while batting first gave a good start with 79/1 by the 10th over, led by
Captain Kendel Kadowaki-Fleming, who guided the innings with a solid knock of
60 off 46 balls. However, Nepal’s bowlers made a solid comeback in the innings,
restricting Japan at just 131/8.
The bowling attack was led by Gulshan Jha and Sandeep Lamichhe by 2-2 wickets each and was supported by Sompal Kami and Nandan Yadav by 1-1 wickets each, applying consistent pressure on Japan's momentum.
Chasing the target of 132, Nepal’s openers Kushal Bhurtel and Aasif Sheikh provide a good start to the players. Meanwhile, Gulshan Jha leading the middle order finished the match with a composed knock. Nepal chased the target in 18 overs with 5 wickets left and made their place in the Super Six stage.
The
Super Six matches are starting from 12th October; Nepal will be playing its
first match against UAE the same day at 4:15 pm.
