The Lions are thrilled to announce the signing of Australian batting all-rounder D’Arcy Short for the NPL Season 2025. Known for his destructive batting and left-arm wrist-spin bowling, which makes him best in the white-ball.
The
left-handed dynamo made his name in the white-ball cricket with his
power-packed performance. Short has been playing marvellously in BBL and was
even the top scorer and the Player of the Tournament for two consecutive
seasons 2017/18 and 2018/19.
The record doesn’t stop there; in the T20I against Zimbabwe in 2018 he shared the highest partnership (223 runs) for any wicket with Aaron Finch and has even achieved his career best ICC T20I batting rank of 6th in 2019.
The
addition of D’Arcy Short to the team will reflect on building a balanced and
competitive squad for the upcoming season. His experience at the top-level
tournaments and his ability to deliver with both bat and the ball will bring a
great balance to our squad.
As the camp’s starting soon, the Lions look forward to welcoming Short
into the squad’s core strategy.
